Something about my thoughts when arriving back to Finland and home.

*Why do all these people speak my language? It is very intimidating and doesn't sound polite.

*Have people stopped smiling at me because they think I'm of a different race (as my friends kindly tell me I look like)?

*I'm still scared that we might crash any minute when we turn or go to roundabout because we are going the wrong way. My mom is not willing to let me drive just yet.

*I was secretly hoping to come here to -30degrees. +2 is not the same.

*My color is already fading.

*Though it only is temporary, I love the fact that there are kids running everywhere in my house and I can just scoop one up onto my lap. This is home.

*I hate jet lag.

*I've been home less than five days and it already feels like I never left. Okay, not quite.

Happy New Year everyone! I can honestly say 2013 was the best year of my life so far. Hoping 2014 will bring new adventures and challenges.

My Christmas

This year, I was prepared that I will miss the whole Christmas thing because I'll be flying just then, beginning on Christmas day. And since they celebrate Christmas on that day in States, when we do it on Christmas eve in Finland.

But I got surprised!We had almost Finnish Christmas in Arizona, dinner and Christmas coffee and presents too, all on Christmas eve. I got my Christmas feeling after all.

I'm not complaining about my 40-hour travel either, I got many Merry Christmas-wishes. And then, it was Christmas here at home too when I came.

What can I say.
Fiji week was awesome. But a whole week in the sun and hot was enough for a while, hopefully enough to keep me happy through the coming cold months!
Though many times I wished I had a friend with me, truth is that I might not have met all these great people if I wasn't holidaying alone. Sharing travel experiences and all. And so it turns out that about five other people I met are on the same flight to LA. No need to be lonely!

Traveling is always so much waiting and sitting. After a long day of waiting for my 11-hour nightflight I finally arrive to LA, in local time 9 hours before I even left. Plan was to see some of Hollywood today, but exhaustion won. And I'm the one who never really takes naps!

I'm really looking forward to tomorrow and flying to Phoenix. It's been nearly four years!

Beach fun!

Tietokone päätti heittää kuvat väärään järjestykseen mut pääasia et ne näkyy.

Viimeiset kaks päivää Uudessa-Seelannissa kului kiertäen muutamia biitsejä mukavassa aurinkosäässä. Yes! Kuvat varmaan kertoo enemmän.

Unohdin mainita viime postauksessa toisen kotimme Mäkkärin. Siellä vietimme aikaa joka ikinen päivä, kerran kahestikin samana päivänä, latailemassa akkuja. Kirjaimellisesti. Sitten oltiin taas valmiita jatkamaan ajelua :)

Upea Uuden-Seelannin reissu! Aucklandista Emmi lähti eriin suuntaan ja minun matkani jatkui Fijille lomailemaan. Bula täältä!

Kaikki sanoo, että Uuden-Seelannin eteläsaari on kauniimpi kuin pohjoinen. Sen täytyy sitten olla jotain todella ainutlaatuista, kun täällä pohjoisessa on näin upeaa.
Kahden likan pikkuautoseikkailu on ollut kyllä hauskaa! Kaikki ei aina mene suunnitelmien mukaan, varsinkaan jos suunnitelmia ei ole, mutta kaikesta selvitään. Neljä ensimmäistä päivää satoi, mikä saattoi toisaalta olla ihan kivakin juttu - eipähän ollut niin kuuma ajella. Nollabudjettikin antoi omat haasteensa matkaan, mutta onnistuttiin silti löytämään ihan ilmaisia hot pooleja (ja nauttimaan niistä vesisateessa) ja kohtuuhintaisia hot springs-uimaloitakin. Maisemien katselu on myös ihan ilmaista.

Ihan joka tienmutkaan ei voinut pysähtyä kuvailemaan kaikista aah- ja ooh- huudahduksista huolimatta. Vihreää laaksoa ja kukkulaa, suomimetsiä, lumivuorta, pieniä vesiputouksia ja yksi koskikin, peltoa, merta, eläimiä joka paikassa (myös kuolleena tiellä). Joka saaren osa on oma uusi ihmeellinen maailmansa. Käykää vaikka itse katsomassa.
